The addition of a sun lounge to our District collection was the result of a contractor’s request for a sun lounge, specified by the landscape architect for a public realm project.

Designed by Aaron Tuck, SPARK design manager and lead industrial designer, the District sun lounge was initially mocked up in timber, to experiment with the unique ergonomic requirements of a sun lounge, which requires support of a person’s body from head to heel.

After refining the design, we fabricated a prototype, tested it and adjusted the design until it met our criteria for aesthetics, ergonomics, durability and efficient manufacture.

With smooth lines and generous proportions, the District sun lounge is a handsome addition to our District collection, and suits a variety of outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces.
