Brief:Interface Landscapes invited Spark Furniture to assess the possibility of manufacturing a series of 9 Large Arbours for Logan City Council with a limited budget. Arbours were designed by Urbis to display the Artwork of Jessica Skeen-McKinnon as shadows on the pavement surrounding the picnic settings. The designs depict groups that have travelled across oceans and rivers to live in beautiful Logan City. Combined with the waterplay and water table these artworks celebrate the many cultural groups that now call Logan home
Solution: Spark's team of designers modelled and re-engineered the Arbours to achieve budget by create a framing system that remained hidden by the Laser Cut Aluminium Panels and doesn’t interfere with the artwork. Every panel is a different size and the compounding tapered angles give a seamless curve to the cluster of arbors keeping the straight edges between every panel exact.
