As part of the Adelaide Festival Plaza public realm upgrade, SPARK were asked to design and supply the cast brass armrests for the polished concrete seating that zig-zags through parts of the plaza.

With a long history of using cast elements for our own furniture collections, SPARK were well placed to provide these elegant components, which add a soft 'bling' to the seating.

The design included a full protoype of the concrete form that would create the seating element, which was ultimately tweaked from the initial dimensions to give more comfort and support for the users.

The final combination of the solid brass, cast arms provide a softer finish that will age to a natural patina, while still conveying luxury, and creating a contrast with the light colour of the exposed aggregate pre-cast concrete seat.
