Located in the heart of the city, Melbourne Connect is one of the city’s Innovation Districts.
In partnership with the University of Melbourne and RMIT, Aspect Studios designed the striking public realm space, on land formerly occupied by the old Royal Women’s Hospital.
Comprising three laneways, a forecourt, and a central oculus, the precinct offers urban and green spaces for both the immediate area and the wider Carlton community.
On behalf of a consortium led by Lendlease, and working with Aspect Studios and Ace Contractors, SPARK were able to realise the designer’s vision through a suite of furniture which includes wall-top seats and benches, tables, lounges, column features, and screens.
Positioned throughout area, the suite welcomes and encourages people to occupy and use the space for outdoor learning and studying, collaborating, socialising and relaxing.
