Erby Park

In the popular Eat Street precinct of Sydney suburb, Parramatta, sits a small, public open space called Erby Park.

Requiring an upgrade to provide a more inviting and relaxed area with seating for restaurant goers, local workers, and passers-by, the City of Parramatta approached SPARK and other urban furniture companies to submit unique furniture designs to go into Erby Park. The design brief called for references to the lush garden of China roses that once grew in the park.

SPARK submitted two designs to the council, one of which was chosen for the project. Abstract roses, laser cut into the seats, dissipate heat, and cast shadows, creating a lovely effect on the pavement. The seats include a laser-cut dog lead hook for canine friends.
