The plaza revitalisation of Central Village, in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), delivered a striking, world class green space to Canberra’s central business district.

SPARK industrial designers utilised sophisticated parametric design software to ensure a successful outcome across the hundreds of uniquely shaped timber battens that formed the incredible, undulating seating in the Central Village plaza.

Maintaining close communication with project managers at TSA throughout the entire modelling and fabrication processes, SPARK was able to manage our involvement in the project in an orderly and risk-free way.

Utilising multiple CAD programs to create precise models for manufacture, the resulting suite of furniture is a testament to the technical know-how, experience and confidence of our industrial designers and fabricators.

In addition to wall-mount seating, three distinctive shade structures were modelled by SPARK, and manufactured by sister company, Rowlands Metalworks.
