Custom Projects/Victor Harbor Main Street/

Project: Victor Harbor Main Street Precinct, South Australia
Date: May 2017
Project Designer: Wax Design
Brief: The aim of this main street upgrade was to “increase connectivity, improve amenity, provide activation” and to create a “contemporary public realm that reflected the cultural, character, and aspirational values of the town”.
Solution:  Spark worked in conjunction with Wax and their team to deliver a range of custom designed furniture items. Heavy timbers were used in the long seats to reference the heavy timber pylons that support jetties along Australia’s coastline. Glass reinforced concrete (GRC) was used to realise the “Bone” seat, a Wax design, that resemble whale vertebrae, providing an artistic and aesthetic link to the whaling station that once existed in Victor Harbor.
